NOESA – Wenner

The Greater Tampa Area Council of Scouting America has presented the National Outstanding Eagle Scout award to Brother Warren Wenner. This recognition is granted by the council’s NOESA committee to Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated outstanding achievement at the local, state, or regional level; unlike the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, which is a national award, the NOESA recognizes Eagle Scouts whose efforts have been made closer to home.

With a career spanning 40 years in the nonprofit sector, Mr. Wenner has significantly contributed to organizations like the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, and Meals on Wheels. He has served as CEO twice, held a position on the National Regional Staff of the BSA, and directed one of the nation’s five largest Meals on Wheels programs. His leadership and dedication were recognized in 2017 when he was named National Certified Nonprofit Professional of the Year by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

The National CNP of the Year Award honors a graduate of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program whose exceptional leadership has strengthened the nonprofit sector. Mr. Wenner’s career is marked by his promotion to increasingly responsible leadership positions, meaningful contributions to the nonprofit sector, and significant achievements within his organizations. The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, established in 1948, aims to strengthen the social sector by providing a talented and prepared workforce. Its Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential is the only national nonprofit management certification in the U.S.

Mr. Wenner has also served as a board member for Meals on Wheels Texas, a 501(c)(3) association that supports home-delivered and congregate meal programs for seniors and adults with disabilities. This organization promotes networking, best practice sharing, education, pilot programs, and the distribution of scholarships and grant funds. Meals on Wheels Texas is affiliated with Meals on Wheels America, supporting over 5,000 community-based senior nutrition programs nationwide.
